Camping is good for you

I love to camp.....

Ok I love to be camping. What I don't love about camping is the packing of the car and the unpacking upon arrival home. I'm always the one that ends up having to take loads of things for other people and spend 3 days when I get home cleaning it all so it's nice for the next time I go camping.

But when I'm camping and the tent is set up and the banana chair is unfolded under a tree and the beach swims are a short walk from my chair and I'm so relaxed I can barely lift a book. I love that.

And now according to studies camping is good for you.

A study taking people camping in Colorado in the USA shows that one week camping with only a fire for light (so no fancy torches and head lamps) allows people to reset their body clocks.  As someone that struggles to fall asleep and finds it even harder to wake up in the morning because of disjointed sleep. This idea sounds like a boom to me.

One major problem is that here in Australia because of the high risk of bush fires for most of the year most of the places you want to camp or are allowed to camp do not allow open fires. And I totally agree with that. But it means I'm going to find it hard to try this research out. Looks like I'll be saving for a camping trip to the States.  Yes I have watched too many American movies growing up and I have a total stereotyped rose coloured glasses type view of how this camping adventure should take shape, but I'm willing to try anyway, even if I have no idea how to make s'mores.
