Gorgeous wedding

Well I know it was only the  first weekend of the year, but if that was anything to go by this year is going to be devine.  Not only was it my birthday but I also got to spend the day at a lovely group of people at the wedding of two fantastic people.  The bride and I have been friends since childhood and what brings us even closer together is the fact we were born on the same day. So Saturday the 7th of January was a triple celebration. I was super happy that I got to celebrate my birthday in such a great way. Below are some photos.

This is the beautiful bridesmaids arriving, I love the fact that they each got to wear a style of dress that suited them. And there was a lovely contrast of colours.

The beautiful bride arriving with her parents. The whole look just took my breathe away. Exactly the style of dress I pictured but the colours were lovely

The happy and fabulous couple. There was a reading from Dr Suess, encouraging the couple to travel near and far and grow their friendship and love for each other.

There were fresh flowers on all the tables. Made the day so beautifully summery.  And bunting galore, I was impressed that all of the bunting was homemade .

When the couple were named husband and wife, the singer and lone guitarist sang that lovely song from Adam Sandlers movie "The Wedding Singer" - "I want to grow old with you".  They also sang a lovely song by The Beatles as that is by far the Grooms favourite band.

More fresh flowers and a scattering of buttons to show the Brides love of crafting and sewing.

The couple found old photos from their parents, grandparents and aunts and uncles.  The photos were absolutely amazing, photos from an era when you weren't allowed to smile through war photos and cool 70's photos.  There was also a typewriter for each guests to type their own message to the couple.  And a guest book for those young people that didn't know what a typewriter is.

I told you there was lots of bunting I was in heaven.

This is not the best photo of me but it shows the special cupcake that was ordered just for me. The bride also had all the guests sing me happy birthday. They are seriously the most lovely, sweet couple I know.
