Well at the moment my job is being a supply teacher, and yesterday was the first day of the school year for QLD State Schools. So as you would assume not many teachers will be sick that first week of school.
So I've been relishing some much needed down time, because during the holiday period I did some temp work in an office so I haven't really had a holiday this year.
Yesterday I drove to my friends house to see her handsome baby boy. He was a week old and she'd only just been released from hospital so the little family was just getting use to being at home. Here's a little picture of the excessively cute little man (I'm a bit biased).

It was raining a little bit yesterday but it got really heavy last night. So my morning walk had to be inside on the treadmill. I had planned a pretty cruisey day playing on my laptop, but it was the first day of the 4th cricket test match between Australia and India has been on TV so I broke free and went to the local pool for a 2km swim. I have never really enjoyed running, in fact I find it really uncomfortable, but I love swimming, I find it easy to follow that little black line because that was my childhood sport. It's not very affordable anymore as the price of pool entry is getting a little ridiculous. But doing laps in the rain is so refreshing, I really enjoyed it.
On my way home, I drove past the park down the street to see as usual a good few days of rain means that the pond in the middle floods, I was surprised it happened within 2 days usually it's a little longer.
Here are some photos of the large brown pond.

It has been a lazy few days, but I have been reading a lot of blogs so that's been good, to see what creative devices people around the world are using. I love that blogging has opened up this ease of learning about others lives. I love it.
I may do some cooking tomorrow, but I won't know about that until I find out whether I'm working. This is the downfall of my job, as I am someone that relishes routines. I'm sure I'll get back into it when I start getting phone calls.
