Giving Credit

I am new to blogging for personal experiences.  I have read a few different blogs lately that have been talking about the issue of giving credit to images and information found on the web.  Frolic and Day Dream Lily got me thinking about this topic.  I did Media Communications at Uni so I am all up for the appropriate credit.  I am hoping to eventually use most of my own photos and designs on this site.  But for now, when I find beautiful things on the net I will track down the original and reference straight to that person.  If possible I will also contact the person to tell them that I am linking to their work.

I have been reading blogs for a while before actually starting my own blog, and in that time I have noticed a lot of people out there do the "Can't remember where I found this" attachment to there photos.  I don't really understand this, how did you download it without a link? I don't mean to sound rude, but I always try to write the link somewhere in case I want to find that person again. Because usually if you find one picture you love, 9 times out of 10 that person will do more artwork that will inspire you.

It's not just polite, but it's good blogging.  The Copyright Law is still relevant on the net, other peoples images, prose, movies and music belongs to them.  They may post on the net to get their ideas and art out into the world but they also put a lot of work into designing the posts.  You found it, loved it, give it the respect that it deserves.

 Reference it.
