Weekend Excitement

Well this weekend HRH Prince William is doing a whistle stop tour of Earthquake affected Christchurch, New Zealand, and flood and Cyclone affected areas in Queensland and Victoria, Australia.

Today there will be a memorial service for those affected in the Christchurch earthquake and continuing aftershocks.  Then Friday the Prince heads to Far North QLD to check out flood zones and the small towns affected by Cylcone Yasi back in the beginngin of February.

Saturday HRH Prince William will fly down to Brisbane and head in-land slightly to visit those in the worst flood areas like Ipswich and the Lockyer Valley and in Toowoomba the Prince will attend a charity Country Music festival in Toowoomba, this is a free event for those affected because many people in this area would have usually have been at the annual Tamworth music festival during the floods but obviously could not go anywhere. Saturday evening there will be a $500 a seat charity ball in Brisbane (which sadly I couldn't attend) but would be an amazing evening.

Sunday the Prince heads to towns in Northern Victoria to see flood affected areas there.  Then he heads home.

When the floods hit Brisbane a publican at a pub in the CBD wrote to the Prince to ask whether he would like to have his Bucks night at the pub. So know this tour is being called the sausage sizzle bucks weekend. Everywhere the Prince goes there is going to be a sausage sizzle for all those disaster victims to get together talk to others and also possibly meet His Royal Highness.

Prince William will be about an hour drive away from my house at one point, I was thinking about going to see him. But I think I will give it a miss, I was not affected by the floods and I think those that were affected should get a better chance to see their future King.  However, I would love to see him in the flesh so I am not sure. (So maybe I should head into the City in the evening and hope that he might hit the town after the ball).

What do you think? Would you drive to Ipswich in order to get a glimpse of HRH Prince William?
