Heard some horrible news today.

I was checking out the old Facebook today when I heard some terrible news about a friend from the UK.
The village I lived in when I was in the UK was full of really interesting people.
Many of them really musically talented people. So many have great stories about hanging out in the London music scene in the 60's and 70's.  It's also the village where Gary Numan comes from and also Sarah Harding spent some time growing up there (I didn't get to meet them).

Anyway one of the best people I met while I working in the local pubs then living in the areas, was a man called Kelvin Purcell, a man who in the 1960's he and his group (The Royal Guardsmen) were one hit wonders with the song "Snoopy vs. The Red Baron", when you listen to it the vocal accents sound American  but they dressed English.  If you watch the video Kelvin is the Drummer (who you don't get to see). You can search him on Youtube and you will see Kelvin in later life.

Anyway after having one hit record, Kelvin met his beautiful wife Barbara and moved to Wraysbury, they had two lovely kids and one gorgeous Grandson.

I head today that Kelvin had dies in his sleep, he really wasn't that old.

I loved the way he was still so heavily into making music, his old home had a recording studio in it and he often taught young kids the drums.  He also had a Country band in later life as well as running multiple business.

The village and local area will never be the same again.

R.I.P. Kelvin
